So you want an answer...even after they already gave an answer? Even twitters of people from other companies don't constantly post updates lol. The last word is that it's hard to work with and they're going back and optimizing the source/engine.

Even on the Japanese update it still mentions engine optimizations are currently being performed (English: Is being worked on.) What more is needed? When there's another update they can easily find the thread and post. Bayo has zero problems finding topics he need to post in.

I don't see any performance drops, only except when in town, but I built a pretty decent computer ground up.

Also as a side note, I read a couple comments about PS3 and why it's not released etc... I'd bet everything the primary reason is marketing. The PS3 stands as a second launch for them. I have no doubt the game is being optimized and may or may not be fully ready on PS3 hardware, but the primary reason for delay is they want more fixes, more content, and more polish before "trying again"

Another 90F day, today after playing for about 3.5 hours my GPU Temp skyrocketed to 67C... If I had not replaced my Fan I probably would not have a GPU right now. For the inevitable posts YES my Case is cleaned and has proper airflow with vents at the top for heat to rise out of the case. This is not a issue with my PC just and issue with FFXIV!

XIV has been closed for about 7 minutes now GPU temp down to 43 and lowering...

Complaining about the temperature vs frames per second ratio: OK.
Complaining about temperature: FAIL.


FFXIV won't push your hardware beyond 100% load, go reread my earlier post to see the implications of it.


Also unless you have smoke-tested your case, you can't be sure it has proper airflow even if it has vents and fans. Since you seem to be 14 years old I am guessing you haven't.

14 years old yeah ok, why would I need to read your post I have been working on PCs for probably more years then you have been alive. And yes there is ways to properly test the airflow in your case it is done nearly the same as when you test the vents in your house for proper CFM. Since I am getting over 1700 CFM I know that i have enough airflow in my case to warrant my hardware and design.

Smoke testing is 1 way, the other ways are to tape paper in various places see how the air flows, then of course there is the hardware test using a CFM/CMM Thermo Anemometer. So the next time you want to sit here and trash someone please make sure you have some semblance or clue as to what you are talking about.

I know FFXIV I wont tax my Hardware above 100% to think it would well would just be asinine.

Hmm, I'll have to look into my numbers, just for the sake of sheer curiosity.

Even during the occasional days of playing for 6+ hours straight, I've never had my PC show any problems. No special/extra fans or cooling systems, just what the PC came with: on the graphics card, processor, and I think two in the case. Customary 'vent' holes on the side of the case, nothing on top.

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285

Game's on all max settings except no Multisampling, and not using some of the checkboxes (Ambient Occlusion, Depth of Field, Disable Cutscene Effects).
