Also did you mean "there aren't concrete details on what precisely is being done that I care TO share"
Or "there aren't concrete details on what precisely is being done that I CAN share"
Thankyou for your continued efforts Bayohne
<cool FFXIV image here>
Lol im sure he'd be eager to share whatever info he had. He just doesn't know exactly whats going on, so he at least told us that there had already been plans to do this along with the PS3 Optimization.
Its probably "can share". He wouldnt just pop in to say "lol I has details but not for u"...right?
Nah i'm sure its "can share" :P

Coooool! i'm happy now! ^^Got word back from Yoshida about the changes that they're planning to implement. Like I assumed, there aren't concrete details on what precisely is being done that I care share, but he said that along with the PS3 version development, they are performing optimization work to overall the core engine to make improvements.
thank you~!
No, it means that the Engine (not the game) is getting improvements, which affectively improve the Game. (think of it identical to a Car). XIV Team may not even be involved at all in improving that part. We have seen destructible environments in FFvs13 (which was static-animations in FF13) so this is one improvement they've done and no doubt from this they've had to optimize and make the engine better as that is a PS3 game.
I was just confused because his phrase, "they are performing optimization work tooverall the core engine to make improvements" uses the word "overall" mistakenly as a verb, which leads me to think he meant to say "overhaul" instead. No, it means that the Engine (not the game) is getting improvements, which affectively improve the Game. Or, that he did mean to use the word "overall", but put the word in the wrong place in the sentence.
No, I am not "full of it". I stand by what I said. Compared to my older G50, this laptop does not run hot, probably because it has twin fans. (or in the very least, it has twin heat vents along the back, meaning better air circulation) Just because ASUS PCs are know to run hot doesn't mean they don't have heat-effiicient models. Considering I listed the model number, maybe you should have done your research instead of just opening your mouth.umm you sir are full of it Asus laptops naturally run hot, so unless you made some massive modifications I dont see how this is physically possible. Especially when every tech forum tells you from the get go on a Asus laptop crack it open and replace the horrid GPU paste they install on the systems. Please post some pictures of MSI afterburner video card specs etc. I would bet you that your video card is running 73C in game when playing XIV.

Keep up the good and steady work SE! I have faith in you guyz that this game will be great![]()
Just dropping in my two cents, but I think Bayohne may have meant "optimization work to the overall core engine". *shrugs* Anyway you look at it, improvements are being made. (´・ω・`)
Can we have the original Japanese so we can feed it through Google T̶e̶a̶ ̶L̶e̶a̶v̶e̶s̶ Translate? (Kidding!!Got word back from Yoshida about the changes that they're planning to implement. My reading of Bayohne's tea leaves:
- PS3 work mentioned in present progressive tense. YES!
- They're working on improving graphics performance. YES! (I've noticed mine has gotten a little choppy the last month or so.)
- Optimization means taking something already functioning, looking for bottlenecks, and addressing those issues. It's the opposite of overhaul.
- OTOH, overall is used as a verb, and tired/busy people often substitute homonyms, so I dunno, really. (I'm assuming tired because the rep also messed up with can/care.)
- So, my guess is there are two separate processes going on, one requiring overhaul, one requiring optimizing.
- "that I [can] share" - whether Yoshi-P said "I can't share with [rep]" or Yoshi-P said "the 360/Wii-HD/Mac port is really helping improve the graphics performance, but don't tell the customers", the result is the same: the rep can't say.
