As Alhanelem has said they appear that they are choosing just about everyone (those who do, and those who do not meet requirements, as well as those that freaking melt the requirements). I'm sure they have some sort of ratio that they are striving for but as a matter of an outsider without data its just pretty random.

I dont think SE should only let legacy members in though as there are many members that are either only joining recently or left a while ago - these people SE is hoping to draw back also. Not only that but they dont want to appear being prejudice, I'm sure.

Its alright to cry when you get missed - but the chance of being missed (with what we know of their parameters) is pretty high lol. I mean only 1/6 of the US applications where accepted the first round and it appears these next rounds will be very very small amounts (mostly because people don't stop logging in :P so there is no room).

If you go through my posts I agree that OP should be able to update their information but I hope I haven't given anyone the impression I think it will increase or decrease his chances. I only said it will give SE more accurate information to pull tests from (which is the whole purpose of alpha). For all we know OP has a better chance with a worse computer and updating will lower his chances.
