You shouldn't have signed up in the first place if you knew you were getting a new computer in the very near future.

Unless you were doing the app on a machine with absolutely no chance in hell of running the game (because it couldn't run 1.0 FFXIV either) then you really have nothing to worry about. They need people with all different kinds of hardware. telling them your new better hardware vs your old worse hardware isn't going to affect your chances. And as others have noted, PC specs are just one of the factors.
Seriously guys, just sit all your butts down and wait for the beta. It will be a lot more polished and functional then anyway. The alpha has next to no content and a level limit of 20. it's a TEST for a reason.

No telling people they cant change their hardware is ridiculous. You shouldn't have signed up in the first place if you knew you were getting a new computer in the very near future.

And why do you care so much if you think any hardware is good enough. "I am here to say no, but I really dont think it matters"
Its not about updating to a stronger PC so they give you higher chances - its about being honest and accurate.
Who is going to care about that difference when they dont know it. The point is the web starts an app (therefore it is a web app) that checks your system specs. You can't fake the system specs unless you really have that system or you cant intercept the information. Its unimportant syntax you are arguing.
Since when have we been able to change our answers on anything SE has ever asked us? Never. expecting it now is expecting too much.No telling people they cant change their hardware is ridiculous.

You're bellyaching over nothing. The testers have been chosen, this is the last alpha phase, you're not in it, too bad, No, Hi-it's-the-no-police, deal with it. Normally I'm not here to say no just for the sake of saying no, but since you seem to want to hear it so badly, here you go.
Yes, i've reached a breaking point when it comes to silly, pointless complaints on this forum:
-Grass grass grass
-Why do they jump so much in the videos
-Unpolished animations in a test version
-why cant I change my app answers, after everything is already over
You can now resume your regularly scheduled and normally unjustified hating of me.

I can see you just want to troll about it.Since when have we been able to change our answers on anything SE has ever asked us? Never. expecting it now is expecting too much.

I'm not saying this for "I could have gotten in if I had different specs thread". This is "SE is being silly - if they want accurate information they need to allow updates"
Your antagonistic attitude is pointless as I'm not saying any of which you are trying to make fun of. Grow up.
Normally, I don't troll at all, but people accuse me of being "the no police" anyway. It doesn't really matter what I say, if I give an opinion, someone has to come out and say "NO POLICE!" so, yes, I am upset and understandably so. I didn't want to troll about anything, this conversation is purely because you chose to make insults at me. Next time, don't pick a fight.I can see you just want to troll about it.

Well, i registered for alpha in september, and i totally bough the computer in November 23, and it wasnt planned that ahead. When i made the app was to maybe sneak into alpha and see if i could run ARR at all, and if so, whould help testing, finding bugs, stress testing, everything like a normal tester. In Version 1.0 Closed Beta my computer (that old laptop) didnt run the game at all, so i didnt test 1 bit because i had around 3-4 fps..... Which made me not buy the game when it went retail because i knew my system whouldnt run it. But sudenly in July, when i bough the game, my laptop whould run it rpetty good with lower settings. You shouldn't have signed up in the first place if you knew you were getting a new computer in the very near future.

That's kinda what i wanted to do anyways lol, test my current and old PC on the ARR Alpha! You shouldn't have signed up in the first place if you knew you were getting a new computer in the very near future.

They're supposed to be releasing a benchmark and character creator pretty soon.
Blizzard is the only one i know to have done this, but that's because they let you set up a beta profile for any current or future beta that may or may not exist or be planned to exist for any of their products, rather than for a specific test they are actively conducting at a specific time.In many game tests that I have participated in, there was the ability to update your application with your computer specs. Or sometimes you would just reupload a new dxdiag file. It really just depends on if, and how much, they are actually interested in your specs or not. In SE's case, all evidence points to it being quite a low priority, if one at all.

Oh man... *drools* - and we can save the created character for use in the release![]()
. Did they say if the manqote will be in the benchmark? I thought they were unsure if it would make it into beta - perhaps rumor mill talking..
quite off topic:
Hey random question but why haven't you created Yuke thread(race or puppetmaster)? Or if you have I never saw it XD. Continuing on that.. is Vivi a Yuke? (I'm a Yuke noob).
