The main gripe here is opening the menu, and not being able to do much when you do and press extra buttons while a pop up or atleast the option to set loot to this would help.

Choice is key here.

Ok, I'll try to explain this in as simple of terms as possible:

-In FFXI, if nobody rolled on an item, they were distributed randomly.

-In FFXIV, they distribute randomly first, then give you the opportunity to "roll" or "pass" on them (Take or Give). Except in FFXIV, it's even more convenient. Party members can give you the item directly.

-It takes just as much time to "Give" or "Take" an item as it did to "Roll" or "Pass" an item in FFXI (you had to open the menu)

And if you're in a pug and you don't trust people, all you have to do is set it to Round Robin or Master Loot...

You people are complaining about nothing.
