From what we've seen, the stock UI's enmity meter is both exceptionally well-integrated into the UI and informative. Can't ask for more than that.

A real-time damagemeter capable of providing detailed breakdowns can be an extremely useful tool because it provides fast and clear answers to questions any intelligent DPS player should be asking about their own performance (versus poring through combat logs, tabulating percentages and proportions one damage result at a time). Regardless of how such tools are used to compare oneself to others, they are invaluable for self-improvement. The mere presence of a tool does not indicate anything about a player, one way or the other.

The sooner more information about addon development is released, the better, but given how many resources are currently tied up in development of the game itself, demanding answers and declaring deadlines is both petty and unrealistic at this point.
