When will SE release an addon SDK?

Arent addons created because the built in UI is lacking? You are one of those kinds of people that gets a mean and immediately adds salt, pepper, and ketchup before tasting it first to see how it is. I guess it would take time to get something ready and developed for an addon and that must be what you are hoping to get but i think it would be best for us to wait and see how things function with the native UI so we will actually know what it needs or does not need. Just my opinion though.

being single player isn't a specifically defining characteristic of any game. I think XI is more than proof of that.

I could, but i wanted to say what i did. If i would choose to ignore something, it does not make it fade away magically. My Statement is pretty much on the same level of "importance" as the Topic itself, so whats your point?

To make stuff function better, but not actually altering the gameplay.
So let people make a "better grass" mod if they want to.

Touche, but your comment didn't bother me like this thread bothers you. I was merely suggesting that if you don't like the topic of the thread, you can ignore it.
Also, add-ons tend to be a normal aspect of MMO gaming, so it's importance probably weighs more than your disinterest in the topic itself. But that's just my opinion.

This Topic does not bother me at all, or to say it even more clear.. nothing on the internet bothers me at all. i am currently just bored enough to post on the forums, not more nor less. Well yeah, even if i dont like something, why would i ignore it? Sometimes i wish people on the NA-Forums would actually be that way, then we would have 80% less topics in total, since noone would "whine" anymore.

To give my opinion about Addons: They are not needed for any kind of MMO. They are maybe something nice for people which actually likes it, or like to code them or w/e reason, but they are not needed in any way or form, to make a MMO successfull.

If a MMO has to have Addons to be sucessfull, then the Game itself is a fail. I am not denying that certain people "would" like Addons or something similiar, but that does not mean that a MMO in General is in need of it. It is some sort of "Tuning" a Car, while a car MAYBE look better after tuning it, there is also the counterpart where cars look worse after tuning. But after all, the car does not need any tuning/decals or whatever to give the driver a good feeling while driving it.

Be nice to have addons that give mob weakness, distance ect.

A DPS meter other then yourself is not productive. THis game (including how it is in alpha) won't work well with a dps meter trying to tally other players (eve nthe best ones is not 100% accurate). What you will end up with is idiots who try to spam damage to be top dog in DPS, and neglect their duties, whipping the party, and missing timing to link special finishers. You will end up making enemies fast.

Other addons for farming, perhaps, but those are built in and unlock with ability levels.

Self DPS, maybe, but even that will lead to players not doing tasks. It fien to test out build gear, but limited.
