Limsa/Marauder quest questions (spoilers)

For anyone who has played the Limsa beginning and the Marauder questline I'd just like to discuss something.

Rostnsthal and Sthalmann

Is this a case of split personalities or perhaps just something to get you wondering? Both are Roe's missing an eye. One is a Commodore of the Barracudas (I think of the Barracudas anyways) with plans to use a powerful artifact for his own purposes and the other is a salty pirate trying to stake his own claim.

There is a point in the MRD questline where a drunken Rostnthal refers to himself in third person and actually says Rostnsthalmann within his drunk stupor of lines.

I'm hoping whenever the town questlines are continued and class questlines that this gets fleshed out a bit more.

Basically:

Any time you see Rostnsthal as a Commodore, you're actually in an Echo flashback.

Which is why the original city-state quests were "scrapped" and probably rewritten, because it gets crazy confusing if you don't chart out the order of events.
