    GTX680 And Losing DirectX Device

Recently moved from a GTX580 to a GTX680. Card works fine in BF3, even when I have it overclocked. Temps are fine, they have yet to go above 65C. But every once in awhile, the game looses focus on DirectX and crashes. Now, looking at the graph at the time of the crash, it appears to have something to do with how the card does its boost clock. The game stays at it's boost clock pretty much the whole time unless I am zoning. Every once in awhile though, it drops the boost clock and I believe that is when the game crashes.
When the game crashes again I'll get a screen shot of the graph from EVGA PrecisionX and highlight the area of the time of the crash.
If anybody else is experiencing issues please post so either SE can do something or so SE can let Nvidia know about it so it can hopefully get fixed in the next driver.

Don't know if this helps but was in a party day or so back when, and his game kept messing up. He didn't have a 680 but he did have the Precision X, said it only started messing up when he started using it. I cant tell you if i have experienced anything because I never downloaded it after his game screwed up because of it.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. Will try it with it minimized and if it still acts up, try with it closed.

GTX 680--->Lack in driver at the moment...then you probably have to wait for stable one

Ha i am really glad to find that post, i seem not alone.

i updated my computer to a 680 Asus gtx. I didn't overclocked it, i could but the thing is pretty powerfull and i don't think it's usefull for now. As you said it, it crash so much times with the directX typical ffxiv bug. it was like one crash every 5min, it's unplayable. So basically i am in the same situation as you. But i don't feel the same pacific way.
I am not accusing some kind of lack of nvidia update drivers or else, i am just pissed with that ffxiv that is work so weak with nvidia drivers. Each game on my computer work perfectly except final fantasy XIV!

We are in years 2012 SE, there are some bug report sending programs on almost every new online game except here.
We pay enough for playing without that kind of mess ! it's unacceptable
Just do your job and add something to see where this goes bad everytime, fix all these craps in your source code and help us one time for all...

pfff i really never write this way / trolling on forum but today this stood on my nerves...

Not PrecisionX, either game or driver issue. Going to have to go back to my GTX580. I expect a fix ASAP... Not going to pay for a game I can not play without issues. All other games play just fine except yours SE.

i just got a evga 680 and it works fine with xiv. i have it overclocked with presicion x. i was getting direct x problem at first but it was because i had card overclocked too high. i lowered the settings a bit until it stopped crashing.

Thing is, for myself, and I'm going to guess for most of us, we are not overclocked at all and every other game runs fine with zero crashes.
I am not going to say it is my card when I can do loops of the 3DMark11 set to Extreme for the GPU tests. There has got to be something else wrong.
