    FF14 2.0 a multithreaded game?

Hello i got some question about FF14 2.0...im thinking of buying Intel I5 3570K ( 4 cores ) or AMD FX 8350 ( 8 cores ) im not a fan of either of Intel or AMDi just want the best bang for my bucks. Is FF14 2.0 going to be multithreaded game? thanks for the reply if i get any. i am going to bed its getting late.

the current client is multi-threaded. so unless there regressing then id say yes its going to be multi-threaded.

Intel is going to give you the best performance regardless. Games nowadays are better at Multithreading than games in the past, but very few of the threads actually use any noticeable amount of resources.

What people fail to realize is that just because its multithreaded, doesn't mean those extra threads need all that much power they could easily be done in one thread, in one core, with room to spare...

I'd advise anyone buying parts to play FFXIV not to go overboard though. Get quality stuff, but you don't need every single part to be the best of the best; that'd just be a waste of money since this game certainly can be run on max without doing so (esp. ARR version).

I wouldn't go over 4 cores, those CPUs are meant for making games and stuff like that. Amd is best bang for buck but intel is better overall.

I played current version on amd quad overclocked to 3.6 I think it's a 3.0 chip if I remember right. I played 1.0 max settings and 2.0 is supposed to require less hardware"

You can craft a decent quality system for under 600 that'll be all you need to play XIV as well as other games of course.

4 cores is more than enough. Spend some extra on a good video card, and maybe a SSD.

Of course, with poorly written code (ie. 1.0), even 8 cores won't help ya.
