Well, i think that should enter on "Craft".
Y'all postin' in a spam thread.

The only time it's been more profitable to craft for me is when new items are released, and people with no sense will pay stupidly high prices for stuff. >.>
Otherwise, just being the supplier tends to be easier/better.
I hate threads like this. I know there's not much to do until 2.0 comes out or until we all are in beta....but really?
Granted its not another dumb repetitive thread complaining, and for that I commend you, but key to ARR is doing it all. There should not be doing just 1 thing or another. If I remember correctly, Yoshi-P said he wanted FFXIV ARR to be like an amusement park. Given that, I don't think things are gonna be as black and white as you suggest with your question OP. There will be much more methods to obtain items and gear than just crafting or farming.
I say leave multiple options and let the player decide and not force them to do something they don't want to do.
Fact is actual "crafting" doesn't get u much. I'm guessing ur lumping craft/gather together nd farming means hunting mobs to kill. Crafting stuff to spam the wards with doesnt get ut all that. The main money maker in having craft classes is melding. Money making in 1.0 was really however u wanted to do it. You could go farming beast coins or skins which if done well could net u big bucks quick. u could go gathering and making hq items for hamlet which also makes bank, or u could go spirit bonding. Some ls members i know made all their money from spirit bonding gear, nd they have more money than me even with all my doh and dol classes.

Farming AND crafting.
If you craft for gil, you would spend less of it by doing your own farming.
ps: I am not a goblin.
