Arcanist Question

Question to anybody that knows/understands and can clear this up for me. Is Arcanist the new class, a new job like WHM, BLM etc. Or is it like THM, CONJ etc.?

Since I know they said that SMN might be ready for release, will Arcanist be one of the jobs needed to obtain SMN, like how you need PUG and THM(Lvl. 15) to get get MNK?

Yes, ARN will be required for SMN

Arcanist is the Class, Summoner is the Job. We don't know the 2 Class-Subjobs yet.

Besides leveling Arcanist, I wonder what the other req for unlocking SMN is?

99% CNJ or THM, but it's hard to guess which of those two until we see the final Class abilities for each.

Might be MRD, on the observation the other two Magic jobs got a melee class requirement, and MRD is the only melee class that isn't a secondary class requirement for any job.
