    Constructive threads please….


    Can we as a community try to start threads that more constructive than some of the ones as of late? What I mean is creating ideas of significance to the game as a whole and to push for these ideas to take part in this game so that we can all have a more enjoyable experience. Off the top of my head I would suggest to the dev team to remove aspects of the game that waste time. They have already started working on such things i.e. mass crafting instead of crafting one item at a time. Generally though I would greatly appreciate to see some of the great ideas from the community that could make this game awesome.

    The game is effectively offline. I'd love constructive threads as much as the next able-minded person, but what do you expect for a game that is in flux? Your best bet is to just stop checking the forums here. I only check them about once a week for dev updates.

    Constructive towards what exactly? This is the 1.0 forums, 1.0 is dead, (R.I.P.), there is nothing left to do other than wait, again.

    I think removing stuff that wastes time is nearly impossible. A large amount of the game is just wasting time, or put better, investing time with a reward for progression. It's just how well that time-sink is veiled and how tasty the carrot being dangled in front of the grind looks which justifies whether it is acceptable.

    I felt there wasn't too much of that painful time-sink in 1.0 and most of those aspects have been addressed in interviews for 2.0, which has made me happy.

    One of the main issues for me was that selling items to other players (ie MW/AH) took so long! Hopefully, in 2.0, working out how much something sells for and how often it sells will be easier to ascertain (and we wont have to rely on fansites or add-ons). In 1.0 I used to write a list of items I had available to sell on a spreadsheet, step over to the item search counter, record all the amounts, step back to my character and put them on sale. This took a good amount of my time whenever I got to log on and I'm looking forward to getting that time back in 2.0!

    I do have a deeply thought-out suggestion for a new market system, but I'm looking forward to experiencing what the new team have programmed for 2.0 before I try to suggest my <ahem> 'better' way of doing it.

    (well maybe that wasn't an entirely 'constructive' post per se, but at least I kept it positive..ish)

    Being able to only trade 4 items at a time to another player took way too long, increasing this amount to 12 or more items would greatly help save time.

    TBH, I don't know why there needs to be a limit anyway, I can trade pretty much as much item as I want between my Eve Online characters as I want. It's pretty disgusting actually when I hop on Eve and does more inventory management in 30 seconds than I just did in FF14 over 2+ hours.

    You wanted constructive feedback and yet you vaguely define "aspects of the game that waste time." OK I'll give you credit for mass production of items, but if that's all that you can see as "aspects of the game that waste time," then this thread is no more constructive than any other thread that is complaining.

    In addition, "aspects of the game that waste time" are things that they use in order to keep you in the game. There are games out there that you can craft all the way to cap within 2 hours. What's the purpose of playing for more than 1 month if you can do that? The purpose of MMO's is to keep the user doing that mundane thing over and over so that they pay a monthly fee and therefore they get money.

    I actually think that the crafting system that they have does well to keep players interested. Out of the games that I have played, their crafting system is one of the most diverse, and one of the more fun aspects of the game. I kinda get bored of crafting systems where you click a button and and it mass produces stuff automatically, kinda takes the value out of the things that are made.

    At least we can still use these forums, and I am happy for that, it's... a form of entertainment.

    Discussing any official announcements and news that comes our way is really all we can do, and I'd rather be able to do that than have these forums shut down completely.
