    There's still plenty of ways to tell your friends in private or on personal websites. You say that like signing the NDA somehow magically makes you unable to tell your friends about it.

    NDA does not allow you to tell friends etc about it , you're not supposed to share any information including whether you got in.~

    Work around that by mischievously saying "I heard of someone from that area who was invited. It was not me."

    On a more serious note, I too would like to know if anyone from this part of the world received an invitation.

    Yup, FoF (a friend of a friend) is a typical way of doing it. Just say AFOF got an invite.
