And yes railing isnt going to do much - they can only handle so many. I'm not suggesting SE open the flood gates to their server so it can crash, I was just suggesting easy ways they could have calmed more of the crowd.

Well, why can't the crowd calm themselves? I mean, why should SE have to hold anyone's hand through the alpha process? I'd like to think that the majority of us here are adults. Surely we all knew that some would be getting into alpha and some would not. I just think that some people here need to put on their big boy pants and deal with it. Besides, there's always beta to look forward to.

SE doesnt need to hold everyone's hand but there is difference between holding someones hand and having transparency through great communication. Never should a business feel above communicating to its consumer - thankfully Yoshi largely agrees with this and has already posted a little in the Japanese forums addressing Alpha rage. Rein is translating it now.

Sounds like Yoshi had to step in and calm down a lot of people throwing a temper tantrum, like an adult having to step in and soothe the hurt feelings of a room full of crying toddlers. lol I guess it's good business practice to wipe the tears of some of the most butthurt of consumers, but it's sad it has to come to that.

Really? Because I think it's pretty embarrassing. And the saddest part is that you think he "agrees" because people cried and whined until they got their way. That's not an agreement, that's someone finally stepping in to be the adult when the other person can't be.

And the funny thing is, all the AlphaBabies want to get in soooo badly soooo they an do sooo much testing to make a great game (I'm sure). Yet now this guy has to jump on the forums and add this bullshit to his plate at the same time? Way to fucking go.

I think it is sad it has to come to that. But I agree that if Yoshi thinks it is important enough to reply to then none of us should question it. It's his jam, he should be able to riff as he pleases.
