I do agree. For alpha, you need people who know the game. Even if it got changed drastically, those who are active subscribers have played (and recently) and therefore would know more about the game than others.I'm sure its been said over and over, but I feel like the ALPHA should have been dedicated players. Players who know how to play in general, so they can help find bugs and help stress test with little guidance.
Then for the first wave BETA they could have invited all those people who quit the game long ago. Hopefully by first wave Beta most of the prominent wrinkles would have been smoothed out.
Alpha is not for showing off.
