I think the difference here is, raging you didn't get in or being overly excited for stress testing is something you can really poke fun at because that pretty much guarantees most sent an app just to play the game. It's not "superior", it's making fun of how strong the reactions of love/hate has been over simple testing.

Of course, your feelings of superiority allow to make such presumptions on people's motivations. Even you should understand that game testing is actually qualifiable as fun as you are actually testing a game.

And in this case, it's testing a game that they obviously really like.
