You should know that complacency is typically an irrational response in these situations, because you're writhing in cognitive dissonance. It's just making excuses and rationalizing.

You may call complacency an irrational response, I call it being grown up enough to understand that the world doesn't revolve around my wants.

You speak of psychology but please analyze your behavior. You're practically throwing your toys out of the pram because you didn't get chosen. Get over it, there's other phases of the test D:
