You have failed to realize the criteria in place to select alpha testers. Which is basically they don't give a damn.

Considering that you need an active paying account to apply to the alpha, what you said is literally impossible.

Alpha should be comprised of the die hard fans mainly, those who will not rage about something being incomplete or broken.

alpha should be comprised of whoever the fk fits what SE is looking for, and ffs nobody rages harder than "die hard fans".

This is not true, actually. I have a friend who was able to apply to the Alpha without an active XIV account. She had played the game before but her XIV account was closed when she applied (and still is). I've read people like this receiving invites from several sources and I don't have any reason to believe it wouldn't be true.

Its working as intended. This is a testing phase, not a demo.

Yes, they are a potential audience that SE wants to win back with the release of ARR.

Apart from that, it is a testing phase. They aren't looking for "who is worthy??" Type stuff because it is just to test out new features of the game and performance. It is not the full product.

Same, just got off the phone with a friend of mine who basically quit after the first free month after launch (although he had been playing since closed Alpha, one of the first testers). He came back once about a year later and I helped PL him up a few before he was gone again, lasted about a month or two. And he just got another invite to this Alpha. So yeah, invites have nothing to do with whether or not you've been supporting/playing XIV over these past two years.. in fact it seems as if that actually hurts your chances. I guess in their eyes, they already have our support so they don't think we'll rage that much (or for too long) if they overlook us for early access to the unfinished ARR.

This sums up so well the problem with so many people here.

You're not applying for "early access" to the game, it's fine if that's your aim, but as far as I'm concerned you can gtfo if you expect sympathies from others because you weren't picked.

Alpha is for test, testing, and more testing, it's not for you to go and play.

All they have to do is to release a video in the next days with bad grass or too much jumping people, or bland sky boxes or too much bouncing dragons, and the forums will stop ragging about this.
