Can anyone tell me where it says you can not tell anyone that you are in the alpha?
It is not a secret there will be alpha testing, it even says so on the official page. How can it hurt anyone at all knowing that person X is an alpha tester or not?

I don't think I have seen anywhere that you can't say it, I could be wrong tho. I think it just means that you can't post stuff ABOUT the alpha itself, how it runs/works/etc etc. Like I said, I could be wrong tho.
IIRC, the fact that you are in alpha is subject to NDA, meaning that knowing someone is in alpha breaches the NDA. Either way, best to be on the safe side in any case.
Not trying to be a pain, but how are you getting to this conclusion? Really, just asking since I do not seem to get it :P
That is exactly what I think. Who cares if I am in the alpha test or not ... as long as I do not post anything about the content or status of the game, server etc. I do not see how it would cause trouble.
Not saying I am in or out of the alpha, but I simply do not get all the wannabe police officers here going all nuts on people saying a friend of them got into alpha ....
Well, it's his own fault. It certainly makes him seem less trustworthy to be able to abide by the NDA - if SE wants to their chances with such a person, fine by me. Is cautioning people nowadays that annoying? Is that what our generation had descended down to?That is exactly what I think. It was a post somewhere long back when alpha news first started, where devs cautioned us, and someone (forgot if it was a dev or a fellow forum poster) mentioned about how strict NDA can be even about your participation in alpha.
If his friend brought it up to him, that's fine. But I felt that him posting it onto the Official Forums marks Dragonheart as indirectly guilty of breaching NDA as well. And that Dragonheart may suffer the consequences as outlined in the alpha registration page.
(Maybe I got on a bout of misunderstanding, in which case I apologise. :| )
