I guess the point of this thread is done then. They wont divulge, and we aren't any wiser of who's in. Its not something to apologize over anyway.

It seems as though lots of people didn't get invites.
I wasn't aware there were even lots of people here in the first place.

Make it happen.

Funny story: my e-mail alert went off on my phone waking me up, so I got excited and looked at it. Sender? Square-Enix.... now I'm thinking "woohoo! I got in" do my little jig of joy early in the morning.... but then I actually check the mail.
It was just the notification that I'd been billed by SE for my FFXI account -_-

Also, to all the people bitching and whining they didn't get into Alpha:

Is good for lols. I just went back to bed and then felt better. haha. I don't care too much about getting into alpha, I just want alpha testing to be successful.

loyal customers: ----> here my monthly fee SE /dishes out cash
quit playing FFXIV customers: --------> here the middle finger SE
SE: -----> hmmm... i like you non-FFXIV players you got balls /give invitation to ARR

No one here in entitled to anything. This is a confined alpha test with bugs, and no data progression. Everything they do character wise is meaningless and subject to change. I have friends who have been with the game day one and got in, but I didn't. This community is beyond pathetic sometimes. Crying over every little thing, and feeling like SE is always giving people the bird. To be honest i'm glad people who are crying didn't get in. They most likely would have been a WORTHLESS tester.
They need alpha testers that have different perspectives. They need people who haven't kissed their asses and gave them a free pass when they destroyed the game the first time.

Every single person complaining must be around 14-17 years old living in the suburbs supported by their parents that give them almost everything they ask for THERE'S NO OTHER EXPLANATION. It's somewhat fumy but mostly just pathetic.
I grow tired of whiners of the "supposed" whiners... As if you have some right to tell people how to feel.. LOL. Guess what Sherlock.. they paid for the game, supported the game, and simply WANTED to be apart of alpha ASAP. No "magical sense of entitlement" (which is quickly becoming the new troll phrase for today..), just desire to be apart of it.. pretty much exactly like those who DID get an invite but didn't support the game. Both parties wanted to be apart, but it seems only one part was favored at this time. Players that have been around supporting the game who also wanted to be apart right now could feel at least somewhat slighted, as they actually invested some time and money already, while some of the others who got the invitation have not done anything.. The supporting players may have been waiting/expecting/hoping for Alpha ARR for the past 2 years, while some of the players that just gave up years ago never to think about FF again until they overheard something about Alpha applications a cupl months ago. It's not a fair system, which is obviously going to upset people, but then again it wasn't designed to be in the first place. SE covered their bases when they specifically told everyone 'how they went about doing the Alpha selections' wasn't going to be disclosed. Obviously, it's designed to bring them the largest return, as people have already been suggesting. For you not to be able to see this show in fact it is likely you who would have been a "worthless" tester, as you put it.

Take a step back and realize how meaningless this is.. First of all it's unlikely they're going to change anything in the game at this point. It's a test for bugs, how many thousands do they need for that? Time will pass and you'll either get into the next alpha or beta or just get the game. No need for long posts explaining anything. It's obvious most of you just wish you got into the alpha.
