I saw the email on skype with webcam of one, and other copy pasted the text for apply on ts, and most important thing.. We are friend since FFXI usa release (or even before).

And if this is not enough, a lot of people are posting in 2 of the most important italian (where i look like a SE PR cuz i opened many official thread and answering every question to anyone) sites that they got the apply (of course without pay anything in past).

People which didnt play for long have somehow priority. a friend of mine who got my "Friends-Pass" just got the invite. Funny thing.. he said himself that he dont have an idea what he should test, since he has little to zero experience in FFXIV, since he basically just played the trial and the last Month to experience the end. May it is a good idea to let people test 2.0, which did not stick with 2.0 to see if they would stick with it now... but after all i dont see a point in doing that during a Stress-Test. They would prolly expect more than an Alpha-Test has to offer. looks like the Sword of Damocles to me.

I guess the Mainproblem in this Thread is that certain people got invites to the Alpha with an inactive Account, while the Applicationform says that you need to have an active one.

Maybe "those people" are just messing around tho, who knows.

That is an issue, I agree, since alpha registration page states:

Application Requirements

- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be willing to participate actively and submit bug reports in at least one of the following languages: Japanese, English, French, German
- Must have a PC that meets the minimum system requirements of the game

However, it seems that if we follow strictly the WORDING of the registration, it implies that to APPLY you have to be an active account holder. If you manage to get INTO the application, it seems that you may still be in the chance for it, judging by the support post:

We will select participants based on the information that is provided during the application process. Unfortunately, we cannot specify what criteria we will look for in the application.
* Please note that we will not be selecting participants in the order that the applications were received.

And as I recall, in the application itself, it does not ask whether you were active or not.

Not exactly sure, but I applied while my account was inactive and it DID NOT ALLOW IT. Only after was I allowed to apply.
