I like the idea and think it could definitely be done. It's just, you have people who have never actually played these games bashing the idea because, well...I guess it's a cool thing to do.

But it definitely would induce teamwork.

In Smite, you have to attack a Minotaur to win the game, in XIV, you could be defending a primal or maybe some lesser summon to prevent yourself from losing.

No, I've certainly played tower defense games, and even the feature in WoW. There is a big difference in having this as a game itself, and just a feature added into an MMORPG.

Guild Wars 2 pvp is actually pretty fun too, which is what our PVP is probably going to be like. But the more pvp options, the better.

Oh I know they are capable of adding in a feature like this, and I urge them to.

I never said it wouldn't be fun or a neat feature to have in FFXIV. All I am saying is that tower defense games by themselves are more in-depth and balanced than one in an MMORPG could be. Then again, we will never know unless they actually add it in, so I would love this feature to be added in.

a dota-type PvP area would be kinda cool. Would probably have to be adapted to full parties instead of 5s though.
