PS3 beta test.

Oh I have it and it's applied to my account, and while that will get me into PC beta, I'd still like to do the PS3 beta.
But it's not SE's fault that Sony requires Playstation Plus for players to do Beta, timed trials- and discounts on certain games. Whatev?!

The FF13 code would give you a 100% Beta invite for PS3 Not the PC version

I've dropped like, 100 dollars over the course of two years for PS+ and I have more games downloaded (for 'free') than I've ever owned in my life. Also, themes, avatars, ridiculousness. At least try out the short term subscription.. I think it's 3 months for a little less than what FFXIV would have cost.

I agree I have had it for 2 weeks now Crysis 2 Resi evil 5 and theres still more I want.

People will burn you at the stake for even suggesting that the free to play/low quality idea might be okay, though.

After all, it's not just another MMO by some company.. it's also a Final Fantasy title made by video game super power SE. Fanatics are going to want it to be P2P and the highest caliber experience possible because anything else for FF or SE seems ludicrous. (And you've played enough XI to know how crazy us FF fan-boys/girls can be, haven't you?)

SO what about me as a legacy and ps+ subscriber, should I get it f2p with my legacy benefits? it would make a lot of trolling, everyone should pay to play.

Needing a Playstation+ account to access the beta is one of the things that would probably cause SE to drop FFXIV from the PS3 entirely since it would confound SE's ability to target the widest audience(unless they gave some sort of "preferred" status, while others would eventually gain access) possible. It's much akin to them dropping the 360 version because MS prefers to keep a Draconian grip on the gate keys to Xbox Live.

I also wouldn't expect SE to honor those FFXIII beta invite keys given the situation of FFXIV currently. But hey, they DID surprise us with the announcement of 2.0, so who knows?

Hey everyone,

This was mentioned in an interview with Yoshi-P but we wanted to spread the word that the campaign codes included in FINAL FANTASY XIII will be valid for gaining selection priority for the FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn PS3 beta test!

When we have the drawing for the PS3 version of the beta test, we will be adding the campaign codes and making selections.
(You will have to re-apply to be a tester, but the code you entered previously will still be valid.)

Hmm... what? I don't see a relation between PS+ and my stance on FFXIV having a subscription. I'm not actually getting anything for free. PS+ is pretty much a subscription service itself, comparable to Netflix. Once I stop paying for the service, I lose access to all of my PS+ content. I imagine PS+ is giving some kind of compensation to the games that are available under it's service. Aren't these two entirely different subjects?

I don't agree with FFXIV being F2P for anyone. ._.
I think a cool idea is: offer a free download with a trial, then at the end of the trial let users digitally purchase the game and get their month free, then subscribe if they want later on. I liked that a lot when XI did it for PC.

I don't know if you're a bad player or not. I don't really know what a qualifies a player as bad. As long as they aren't RMT, I think players of all caliber and skill should play FFXIV.

(I didn't bash anyone for their ideas; well, not this idea.)

Yoshi already said (I think in the live letter 3) that PS3 beta test don't start in the same time like the PC beta start, but during the PC beta. They want to fix first most server bugs before they bring the PS3 players to the beta.

Considering there's hardly any info regarding the beta I wouldn't bet on 100% anything. There's forum posts from 2009 saying they got into the 2010 14 beta with the 13 key.
