When can we see Arcanist / Summoner in action?

I have enjoyed the alpha videos however there is something I want to see more than the revamped Gridania and Black Shroud.

I would like to see where SE is at in developing the Arcanist class and maybe even a sneak peak at summoner AF in game. If they aren't that far yet I would settle for some video of Carby in action. Can it jump too? Is it an MP drain or does it have HP and a summon timer like the XI dragoon pet?

In the JP translation thread Soukyuu kindly translated some new interviews from Japanese magazines, Yoshida said

Arcanist's "hitting with a book"-animation is being worked on, he plans to show it the next LIVE letter, if possible

I would love to see how the AF looks in game too...and on both genders if possible hehe but yeah I guess this is as far as they have gotten so far. Maybe if we are lucky we might see it in AF but I have a feeling it will be Arcanist...if anything xD

Thanks for the info. A little disappointment on my end but at least they are committed doing it right.

Would of been cool if the book was a ranged melee auto attack. Like Spirit Dart + Elemental with AA type deal. Oh Well! I'm sure I'll love it anyway. Quick ?, wasn't Urlanger (sp?.. The sooth sayer) an Arcanist when checked?

No problem! Happy to help And yes I do think Urlanger is an Arcanist! There was a few NPC's who were...and there was the guild in LL. They had these odd looking weapons and such iirc.

and yes I agree it would be cool if it was like a spirit dart type attack! It kind of worked that way in Aion...haha I think I remember Yoshida saying though we will literally attack with the book...haha who knows though, I guess we just wait and see!

Based on the Alpha Character Creation video; seems like you can preview what your created character would look like in race specific gear, discipline equipment, as well as job AF.

Soo... if they let us play around with a Character Creation tool like I've been hearing..

You might be able to see just how a male/female Babydoll Rapture would look in SMN AF.

Yeah, I believe they said that they could possibly have the Summoner job ready for launch, but they're still working on making it battle-ready (it's probably still horribly imbalanced) and I don't blame them if they don't want to rush it. I'd settle for and enjoy just Arcanist at launch. Would actually give us time to enjoy the class itself before going full-summoner on everything. ;D I would hope that they could show us the AF on a character sometime before launch, even if it won't be available for some time since the SMN job class might not be available for a little while afterwards.
