So you liked the large, bland areas with the same bits of environment repeated endlessly? Why even have a 2.0 then? Just play 1.0 forever. It's an incredible success!
Zoning is simply way more efficient resources-wise.
It may be less immersive, but a seamless world limits a lot what developers can and cannot do.
Leashing.
Will they get rid of it, now that zones are back?
That's what I'm most interested in knowing.
'04 FFXI: Shield Kites - Paladin - Mithra - Windurst - Diabolos
Hopefully not, I find having to run across a zone with a monster trailing behind me the most goddamn annoying thing ever.
I guess it could be removed in particular cases (like hunter-type monsters that ggro on you and don't let go or vengeful-type monsters that will leash if you just run past but chase if you hit them), but hopefully those remain sufficiently few that training all of the god-forsaken monsters of the zone back to the zoneline never happens
Doubt it most likely will be like XI mob will stop running after you after awhile.
