There have been plenty reports of it over twitter and in fan forums. There have also been people here that tested with another inactive account if they could apply. Where is the proof that it didn't happen again? all SE has to do is to deny it. Yet they aren't.

In absence of an official denial, there's plenty reason to believe multiple reports, especially when corroborated by the fact that applying for the alpha with an inactive account is proved to work now, when it previously didn't.

As for me, before I disbelieve a long standing member of this forum and the many others in the thread that confirm what he says (that could be banned if the information he posts proves to be false, as per rules, and guess what, they're not banned), I'll wait for contrary evidence.
