I too have paid for WoW my subscription is still current in that game, but they actually have a lot of content to do so its worth it.

You have to understand and remember, FFXIV1.0 failed and so yes it isn't same level as wow or FFXI in terms of content. However, if FFXIV 2.0 ARR does well then it should stay p2p. If It failed then Yoshi-P will decide it's time for f2p or so.
