Do you think SE should have a free to play AND a subscription model for ARR?

I wish people would just give up this dream of free to play. There are plenty of free to play games out there. If you can't afford $15.00 a month you probably shouldn't be playing an MMO anyways.

The thing I don't like about Free-to-play is that they pretty much all degenerate into Pay-to-win. After all, the game needs to make money somehow, and it's not going to make money selling pure aesthetics, even in this crowd (which I believe places greater value on aesthetics than most).

With people saying that the only way FFXIV will survive, is with F2P option. If the game is good, it will reel in people, if not good then it won't reel in people. Honestly tho, how can u be so certain that the game will fail because it's not free to play? Can say the same thing about if it is f2p. How can F2P actually help FFXIV? Rather then saying "Make FFXIV free to play it will help FFXIV survive in the MMO industry," why not wait till the actual game comes out and if you don't like it just stop playing and stop paying.
