I feel like you are arguing with yourself in this post.In case no one has said this before, the god damn game director has stressed, several fucking times, that realism IS something the team strives for, and something the FF series has been known for. So, before you post something like "this is a fantasy game", acknowledge the fact that your opinion is void of any basic observation skills and your reasoning is flawed to say the least, read what the team says on the forum so that you can avoid senseless replies.
They want realism, not reality, so stuff like "the speed of light isn't right" bears no relevance. Realism is subjective, in the sense that you can perceive more or less than others, and therefore you will be convinced more easily than others that something is or is not real. To some, this game looks realistic, to others, not so much. To some, jumping on a piece of cloth and having it react like concrete is unrealistic, to others it's just "I'm on top of a tent, cool" before they can actually realize the tent is not supposed to react that way, if they ever do on their own (i didn't).
Now, if this is a subjective topic, then how do we decide what's best? We don't. SE does, and in fact it already has, by making the world way more realistic than most of us players would need it to be in order to believe in it, or enjoy it. What we can do is provide feedback. So, if you enjoy it, just say so. If you don't, say so too. This is the only way SE can react on its choices and in case it decides to do something "controversial" it will know how the community is reacting to it. Because we do expect something from this game, and their decisions cannot be random. Thus realism is something we expect, and when it's broken, it needs at least a good reason.
So stop trying to pull convincing arguments out of your ass as if you can somehow justify your personal opinion on a subjective topic. State if you like or dislike it, and why, and be on your way. That's useful. The rest isn't.
Also....its jumping. It is really hard to take this community seriously when they make a giant thread complaining about jumping on top of a tent.
Looking back through the thread, it's the people complaining about the OP's criticism of being able to stand on a tent that have made this thread giant. But I do agree, it's hard to take any of those members of the community seriously. Fortunately for me, I'm here for levity and not srs bzns else I'd have been too busy weeping into my keyboard this past 36 hours.
