Is there a lore background to Alfgar/Roysia (among other criers)? Also, a GM Question

Just some backstory rambling in the quote. Main question is just below.

I was always wondering who Alfgar is (along with Roysia). I remember them first appearing back when a GM-controlled Urianger appeared at the camps. They would basically say "Don't listen to Urianger!"

Then they appeared again when the Imperial Behests came at the level 20 Camps in the 3 main areas. Alfgar would pop in the city, Roysia would be at the camp to guide you to the Militia Outrider.

Then the newer Imperial behests happened at Camp Glory and Camp Emerald Moss. Camp Glory would happen 3 days in a row, then a wave would appear at Emerald Moss on the fourth day. However, now more criers were introduced.

Camp Glory behest - Limsa: Saintrelmaux, Ul'dah: Bloehyr, Gridania: Hadrian, and at the camp was Elvide.
Then Alfgar and Roysia would appear for the Emerald Moss behest (Alfgar would be at city, Roysia at camp).

Now recently, we have Alfgar leading you Addison to do a Dalamud cult behest. No sign of Roysia.

Now I was wondering, who exactly are these town criers? I did notice that Alfgar seems to have a relationship with Roysia (he expressed worry that Roysia would be harmed during the Emerald Moss one).

Alfgar: They were seen in the vicinity of Camp Emerald Moss, where Roysia is at present. Gods, if any ill should befall her, I...I know not whether I could go on. I'd hunt down the imperial whoresons myself, but like as not I'd end up tripping over a tree root and impaling myself on my own paring knife. Ah, if only some valiant souls would volunteer in my stead, there'd be no end to my gratitude.
But more importantly, they're all dressed in the same attire. So are they just an independent non-profit group that wants to spread the word of the craziest stuff going on in Eorzea? I guess they're kinda based on Heralds shouting stuff and whatnot.

Also I'm curious, who exactly were the associates at SE that would jump on the GM accounts for certain celebrity accounts (like Urianger and Petyr) and scare/interview players?

Localization don't write the lore. They just... localize it.

You're asking a question of plot! And Ferne & co don't have jurisdiction to reveal things there.

    Alfgar & Roysia

The mystery behind the true identities of Alfgar, Roysia, Hadrian, Bloehyr, Saintrelmaux, Elvide and who else we've yet to see from their organization, is still one of the unsolved ones I wonder about often, too.

This is what I've gathered in a previous journal entry:

    - Considering how they originally tolds us to avoid those false prophets, I'm sure they're not from the Circle of Knowing. They may be imperial spies or another type of good organization.

    - Like you also said, according to that message of Alfgar I suspect he has a crush on Roysia.

    - Roysia spoke of “our Twelveswood”, meaning that at least her, or maybe her whole group, could be from the Black Shroud. But this is just a speculation, maybe she simply cares for the forest...

    - Roysia also appeared on another special occasion in Camp Horizon, warning that high-reanking imperials were spotted nearby; these her words before I met Legatus Nael van Darnus.

For your last question... You want to know the name of the Square Enix' employers controlling the Game Master-controlled characters (in this case, yes, I think they're the Game Masters themselves, the ones we contact in case of in-game issues) or all of the Game Master-controlled characters that appeared so far?

Well, I'm sure that before the Seventh Umbral Era arrives, the identity of those mysterious characters will be revealed.

In all honesty, I believe they are simply heralds employed by the Syndicate - what adventurers do is essentially in their interests. Free labour, after all.

Glad to see the Eorzean Heralds are all back together for the 1.21 Imperial behests.

So there's a new NPC which makes 7 of these Heralds.

Alfgar, Roysia, Saintrelmaux, Bloehyr, Hadrian, Elvide, and Ziuz Amariyo.

Gonna confirm spelling of last one in a bit.

    Seven Heralds. Seventh Umbral Age.

    Pattern?
