ARR & Alt-tabbing out of fullscreen

Will the client in ARR allow a player to play fullscreen and alt-tab out to do something like follow a URL someone posts in chat, without crashing? Or in case some other application on the PC (like the Java Updater) that sometimes pops up an annoying window? Or the player accidentally hits the Windows key? Or some other combination of events bumps the client out of fullscreen mode?

This was my #1 greatest annoyance with the 1.0 client, and resulted in me crashing out of the game at least once every few days (especially until I figured out how to permanently disable the Java Updater). I want to play fullscreen, but it's still hard to believe that S|E actually shipped a client that crashed when playing fullscreen and getting bumped out of fullscreen mode for any reason.
