RED MAGE VS TIME MAGE

Did we really need a third Time mage thread? and did we really need to push the whole ridiculous arguement that somehow Red Mage and Time Mage are competing for the same spot?.

Red Mage is a frontline melee dd with some mid tier Black and White magic that it can cast faster than other jobs in some way or another.

Time Mage is a backline Enfeebling and Enhancing job with a few damage dealing spells.

People should stop confusing what Red Mage was in XI and what Red Mage could be in XIV.

These polls mean nothing when i can go on to my vita and submit a second vote for job/class of my choice.

Assuming that Redmage would cast faster than other jobs is still FFXI, Redmage's traditional ability is "DUALCAST" As in you hit a ability, select two spells and they share 1 cast bar and resolve at the same time. So you can do CURE+CURE or CURE+FIRE FIRE+BLIZZARD. Still not sure why future redmages don't know what dualcast is ; ; They should be demanding it.

um.... when i said cast spells faster in one way or another i was including dual cast in that area of Red Mage's expertise. As it allows Red Mage to cast the same number of spells faster than another mage.

I'd rather the defining aspect of RDM to be the mix of magic and melee by way of magic fencing, not a poor gimmick from the console RPGs.

I know I'm just feeding the fire so to speak, but really, do we need another one of these threads? The devs are gonna do what the devs are gonna do, tell us about it, then most of you can bitch about it as you are wont to do, and the rest of of can have civil, gentlemanly discussions about what we'd like to see from each job/class(because I'd like to think the devs want to do something different and add both at some point) over a hot drink, probably tea. I like tea after all.

I still think RDM players are greedy and want to steal Mystic Knight, Time Mage, and White / Black mage's spell lists though har har har...

Take them both! Haste/Slow & any -ga forms would be Time Mage exclusive. Also if any form of Refresh is in ARR give it to Time Mage as well, let RDM fight with MNK & DRG for a melee DD spot.
