    The ability to teleport where you want when you want is nice at first, but it very quickly gets old and causes the entire beautiful map to be seen as nothing but an obstacle. It seriously seriously detracts from the joy of adventuring and discovery...

    Had you posted this thread a month ago when I just started GW2, I'd be all for it. Now that I've had time in the game, I'm very much against this. I'd be ok with being able to teleport places, but only if there's a limit. There's nothing wrong with running to a place, and in fact I believe this is the number one way memories are made.

    For the record, I felt the same with 1.xx's aetherytes. Teleporting was just... too convenient. It took away from the game. Your proposal would do the same but multiplied by 1000.

    My proposal is nothing but changing the functionality of the system, it doesn't add or take from it in any way. While I understand and even agree to some extent with people that complain about this, I don't see as being relevant to my suggestion ^^; I'm merely pointing what would be a very handy feature with the new UI as the Aetheryte system is there to stay, in one way or another, so I'm just saying that we could me it more enjoyable to use.

    I think I slightly derailed it slightly, sorry :P lol

    Though I did comment directly to the suggestion first

    I think even if the system is nerfed the map usage to teleport should still be used - forgetting where and which name is impossible when you can just look and click. Also less menus and looks cooler (map vs ui)

    If you don't like it. DON'T USE IT. ._.;

    If anything, there should be a fee that's charged depending on your character's collective levels, distance from current location like in GW2. Being able to teleport on the fly in a massively massive MMO(I love redundancies) is extremely useful.

    Now, I don't want to be the one to call people who are gun-ho about insta-TP lazy or the people who are adamantly against it masochists that kick puppies and eat nails for breakfast without any milk but... Having options are very nice to have.

    I'm sure a lot of people out there think of the dreaded moments of being in a PT all set up to farm some tapers or what have you and no one in the PT has anima! Having to take 15 minutes or more to ride all the way from point A to B when it could have taken 15 seconds(Not to mention having to ride all the way to the primal's location across the map).

    Time is wasted, and those lovely green trees you've seen a thousand times before aren't as pretty when your team is on a limited time schedule.

    That's just my experience and those I played with, personally. All I'm saying is teleportation with minimal to reasonable penalty is a godsend when needed. To deny the ease and functionality of linkshell and PT grouping with teleports is almost as pigheaded(perhaps poor choice of words?) as refusing all player's access to cross-server dungeon grouping.

    It works in GW2, no one on my server complains about it, and no one's feeling left out and unwanted unlike in 1.0 XIV's archaic system.

    Sorry, didn't mean for this to turn into a rant. Just tired of people doing their damndest to make ARR as unfun as possible.

    The object of ARR is to bring new people into the game as well as those who quit long ago due to the game's technical and mechanical failures.
