Yes, this is what they are suggesting and it's a great idea!To make it clear to people so they don't misread anything. I think what the OP is getting at is instead of doing the process: Menu>Teleport>Area>Aetheryte and accidentally get the wrong aethertye and waste anima, all the OP is suggesting is Map>Look for the aetheryte on your map and just point and click. Correct me if I'm wrong, because people tend to read things strangely wrong lol![]()
Teleporting everywhere is one of the absolute worst things to do to an MMO in my opinion. Add trains and zepplins instead.
Just talking about teleportation.. I know the OP just wants an easier way to teleport using the existing system for teleporting.

That's the worst part about A Realm Reborn...mandatory teleporting!Long as it's heavily limited, sure..they may as well have kept the same world design if we're going to teleport anywhere and everywhere.
We won't be exploring or caring, so why redesign the maps? xD
Though, all new MMOs on the F2P side has auto-routing and teleports everywhere...so meh, we're beyond convenience and just want to be lazy fucks.
In all honesty, I think the teleport system we had in 1.0 was perfect, aside from not actually having to run to the Aetheryte/Gate for the first time. Lower the amount of anima given out during Hamlet and it'll make teleporting feel limited again. I never understood why having the option to move around quickly is such a bad thing. If you don't want to use it, don't use it. I chocobo everywhere unless I have to be somewhere quickly. Not a single part of my game was affected by someone using their anima to teleport themselves around.
Only if you can select the aetheryt on the map with controller easy.
If not, then "controller limitation"
How about this? Abolish the Teleport in the UI menu complete. Instead put Teleport in the aetherytes menu. You select Teleport, a teleport map show up and you can select with D-pad right and left the aetherytes and with up and down the map. And I mean the aetheryte crystals, not the aetheryte gates and not the city aetherytes.
For city aetheryte the city map can show up if you talk to the NPC.

lol lets make every travel in 2.0 a fellowship of the ring walk XD!!Ignoring the existance of masochistic players that believe that if it doesn't takes you three hours to get from the city to the first aetheryte camp...
I actually really do hope they implement that and... Memory tells me that they are at least thinking about it, it's an easier system to use than the current million screens requires for teleporting.
This idea needs more attention, though, I'd be surprised if the development team haven't already looked at implementing this in 2.0. The concept of teleporting via clicking a teleport point on the map versus a list without a clear view of where you're going is now, thanks to Guild Wars 2, too good to pass up.
while teleport is ok with the limitation of the anima system, i wish we could only access the teleports when we are at an aetherite crystal, as physical representation of an actual network instead of our weird demigod-like power to tear ourselves into molecules at will any place, any time, that always was a thorn in my side.
return would be an exception since your traveling choices are limited to 2 and it has a recast time
oh and only being able teleport to places you unlocked yourself goes without saying.

I like to point out the fact about exploration and the players that enjoy it. They are going to do it regardless of its hardships. Telepointing is great and all but it doesn't take away from the explorers case in point the chained aeth points that lead to eventually becoming the points and or areas for primal battles. When people went out explorer for them there was nothing out there except highLV mobs that could literally not be killed in the first battle system.
And there many things that people just don't know even though they were near it the whole time. Like the goblin spawns in Thanalan. So people did not know that Marlboros existed out side of the boss in AV but they found that out when living on prayer took the less traveled into them. So explorers are going to be alright and with the roaming primals and other hunts that we are supposedly going to see explorers are going to be on a runners high for a bit donating maps pics and positions to mooglebox and the like.

I liike the idea OP,
No more going through dozen of menus just to go teleport to another aetheryte, and Please people, aetheryte and teleport are here to stay,
You will still need to go explore it out to claim the aetheryte links.
