^ this. Optional to participate. If you have bad experience with it, there is no needOP, I was originally hesitant on this decision as well. Reason being is that games that implement this type of system allow for more anonymity to the players (therefore people can be rude, disrespectful, ninja, etc.).
However, after reflecting on it for a while (we've known about this for a while, now) I think this could be a good idea as it has been problematic quickly finding or building parties for objectives in both XI and XIV 1.0. The greatest feature about this cross-server dungeon group-up is that it's optional and if you would like approach dungeons in a different way you do not have to use it.![]()
I honestly don't mind the cross server grouping in theory
But what I'm worried about is the method of operation. Will it work from town and autotele you into the instance/fight? I really, really hope not, completely defeats the purpose of their world redesign and slowly turns the game into a hub styled mess. If each instance/area has a separate content finder for itself right outside it's entrance? Then I'm fine with it.

Reflect on this. What if cross world also opened the door to cross regional server... meaning that you can use the tool and get players from all regions in your party... Would cut down wait time for sure, proven you can't trade while in the PUG. This could be one of the things that makes the game skyrocket rather then treading mud.

I personaly look forward to this being added to the game. Between work and school sometimes i do not get to play for extended periods of time mfind people needing to complete older content. This will increse the pool of people looking to complete out dated content and making the game more enjoyable for me and them alike. Plus allowing us more time to play when we have the time instead of just spending our time looking for a party. Sure you may get an occasional asshole, or player unwilling to ask what their role should be, but you get that sometimes anyway, so this only brings benefits to the game while in noway adding anything that we have not already had happen at some point.

Panic!...seems the horrible systems Blizzard call Cross Realm Dungeons and Cross Realm Zones, which a large number of people playing WOW detest with a passion, is coming to FFXIV:
This is a recipe for disaster, the long experience of the cross-realm Looking For Dungeon has amply shown it breeds excessive greed and ass-hattery, because players can be jerks and then return to their own realm with no repercussions with regard to their community reputations.
Cross Realm Zones has destroyed large parts of the gathering game, now the over-competition for resource nodes makes leveling gathering a nightmare.
Please Yoshi, I beg of you, DON'T inflict this community-killer on us.

Ass-hattery and jerks exist regardless. Hence Jonathan Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory. This is a recipe for disaster, the long experience of the cross-realm Looking For Dungeon has amply shown it breeds excessive greed and ass-hattery, because players can be jerks and then return to their own realm with no repercussions with regard to their community reputations.
The bigger the group, the higher the chance of finding people you disagree with or are asshats. It's a fact of life, man.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

This is old news and i bitch about it for the same reason your saying. But it's up to SE how they make how to get gear system within the dungeon. If they make it so only the whm can loot for that whm hat then there no issue with other getting it and saying f**k you i'm out type of thing.

You know if they had cross server LFG in FFXI there would be no one complaining about how hard it was to find a group to do story content, right?
Finding a motivated group for CoP wouldn't have been pulling teeth.
Leveling DRK/BLU/DRG/BLM/PUP wouldn't have been soul crushingly depressing.

Do you remember how long it took to find alliances for Optical Hat parties? Divine Might? Or Any story or quest mission that you didnt burn through in patch week?
Yeh, my heart is sinking remembering those times. I'm looking forward to Cross Realm.

You always have the option for not using it. For simply using shout within your own realm to form groups or find a Linkshell that suits you.
Adding another tier to the options available to players dosen't suddenly erase the others from existence.
Furthermore, this actually might help you find like-minded players on your own server as those who share your viewpoint will likely be doing the same, while those who think you're paranoid will be quite happy using the content finder or their own groups without you.
