We have been put into an Aethereal (sp?) rift, and we will return to Eorzea when it is safe, which will be 5 years in the future, not past.

That explains why I have been playing RIFT waiting for 2.0 to come out. lol

With the little destruction taken by Gridania, as seen in the Alpha video released... (and leaks, if you're into that kind of thing), we can at least be sure of this; The damage to Gridania was not severe enough to break the stained glass window in the Adventurer's guild.
If you ask me, Limsa got the worst deal of the cities. They got a whole spotlight where they get totalled, so we'll have to wait and see how underwater they are.

More importantly; whatever the hell defeated Bahamut in the 5 years until ARR comes out...

Huh?..... I'm pretty sure they could have replaced some glass in a 5 year or so span and rebuilt cities also. And Bahamut..
