Well, if I were untouched by time while I was asleep I'd say yes I did travel by time but that is not the case when I sleep.

"untouched by the seasons" the seasons after Behe attacked woulda been hell

think its like when u sleep in a bedroom and some sort of monster shows up, someone carries u out of the room and u remain asleep till hes gone then puts you back in there, dont think its time travel, more like passing time till everythings alright in your "room"

When you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning do you feel that is time travel? I mean you go to sleep at midnight and you wake up and its suddenly 6AM... did you travel through time or were you just in an unconscious state of being that makes the time between going to sleep and waking up seem instantish? Being in stasis for 5 years is still waiting for 5 years, prior to waking up and being again. It doesn't really matter anyway its a simply semantics argument but in my estimation its like sleeping... and not time travel.

If we haven't aged then it's time travel...Since I at least assume I age when I sleep.

Who's to say we don't age though? Not like our characters have specific ages, so for all we know we COULD be 5 years older.

I don't know what anyone could think "untouched by the passing of seasons" could mean other than the characters are not affected by the passing of time... if not for that line I'd think our characters may 'age' or that this wouldn't just "be" time travel. That one line basically changes everything. Essentially the characters are placed somewhere that time does not flow specifically for them but apparently does for the rest of the world and then emerge later.

Functionally that sounds the same as time travel to me! s'all I'm sayin'.
Only reason I brought it up is some folks have stated that we 'wouldn't' be traveling through time, it certainly sounds like we are to me.

One year of in-game time is 18 days and 16 hours of actual time. Characters that were created the day the game launched are over 40 years older by now, ahaha.

Not necessarily it could also mean, us being tuck away between space and time for 5 years, then the spell wears off and we come back. That's not time travel but hibernation. That would also make us "untouched by the seasons that past (or the years that pass) Also not affected by whats going on during those 5 years.


If you all watched DoctorWho more often, you wouldn't be so confused with actual time travel and being placed in a rift between time&space.

So... where's the confirmation that we weren't sent directly to the future and that we're simply in some sorta frozen state outside of time?
From all I've read it could be either/or. Everyone is acting as if there's something that says one way or the other 100%. I'm curious as to why.

There is still another half to the trailer, that SE is saving for opening sequence for 2.0, it should explain more & how we get out of the rift.

That sounds like flowery language for time travel to me... -_-

So, can someone explain to me how this is any different than time travel into the future based on what is written there?

If you where hibernating, then there would be a difference. eg. When an animal hibernates for the winter, do they time skip to 'Spring' or do they hibernate for a set period of time, and emerge from their dwelling place.
