Right, because we all know the only reason people log into FFXIV is to /dance the whole time, because there's nothing else at all, in the entire game, that's fun to do. (note: that was sarcasm, in case you missed it).

On a serious note, you really do love hyperbole, don't you.

Maybe you can use your own imagination and creativity to inject some of your own unique personality into him and make him your own, instead of relying on SE to do it for you via /emotes.

You don't need emotes to role-play, nor to give your character personality.

Or is FFXIV - for you - where imagination and creativity go to die as well?

You don't need emotes to role-play. If I wanted to role-play in a chat room, I'd log into AOL. This, however, is more than just a chat room.

I use my own imagination all the time when I play this. I have to imagine my character having a good time, because I cannot portray that by using the emotes (the things set up to do just that). Crazy how these things work.

I'll just have to make a new character when A Realm Reborn launches who is just a Tax Accountant. That way, he'll fit right in to the boring world that outlawed fun at the login screen.
