I don't mind if SE goes quiet for a while either, though they could actually keep us apprised as of what's happening.

One post a week on a set day that they don't deviate from.

It would give people looking forward to XIV something to look forward to every week.

That just hard to do when it come a mmo they been giving us info every week just not the type people want.

While in theory that sounds like a perfectly amazing idea and reasonable to expect. However you may have noticed that some of the idiot children here will take information regarding a concept or new feature and without all the details fill in the remainder of the information themselves. This leads to panic threads/rants/jumping to conclusions.

Kind of like, "I heard they are making the Ul'dah citizens look more arab. OMG SE supports terrorism, check for WMDs!"
This is obviously a joke example but no more ridiculous than most of the posts I've read lately. The sad, sad truth of the matter is that a fair percentage of the player base cannot be trusted with new information.

That being said, I'd love some minor updates and as far as most of the game I'd prefer to see it for myself in game and make my own conclusions (then keep them to myself).

Rizon, you keep talking about rewards - it may be just me, but haven't we been rewarded enough? Legacy, unique items, event items, progression (they didn't shut down servers). Why must we request more? Is there a limit to how much we define as our 'reward'? Not to mention information isn't something that really 'relates' to being a reward for us who stayed with game, because anyone can access it, not just people who've stuck with the game. Maybe it's high-time to drop this 'reward' approach because we've been compensated enough as it is.

Upon thinking about it "reward" was probably the wrong word. Recognition, I think, would be better.

The more you wait for information, the longer the wait for release is going to seem. Put the game in the back of your mind for now, and it will be out before you know it. A lot of us waited for info the first time around, and how did that work out for us?

Well, we get a custom chocobo, Legacy status (which comes with 7 free character slots at a discounted normal price), even I hear words of some sort of physical mark for surviving Dalamud (Rumored to be a tatoo).

This is on top of the Goobue, and the unique plotline only we've experienced.

So yeah, we've been recognized.

Man some people really need to learn patience. We all would like to know about ARR, sure, but these threads just scream "entitlement" "me me me me". Stop thinking they owe you something.

The devs and Yoshi-p will give us updates when they see fit. He's done the best so far so I trust his judgement when it comes to this stuff. Not going to cry if he doesn't give us a video or screenshot to dangle a carrot in our face.

They mentioned they were taking a break this week after working long on both ARR and wrapping up 1.0 with all the media and what not. Give them a damn break. They're only human

And for those that keep bringing out "yeah that's what happened with version 1.0 and we got a crap game!" Well, that was Tanaka not listening to the people. He had a long record of doing that, even with XI. For years the XI community was in silence about things and had little or no input. Be happy you guys have a forum to bitch about this stuff in the first place. I remember back in 2006 or 2007 the idea of official SE forums came up, and Tanaka's response was "it would be too much trouble, since we would have to have forums in different languages."

And stop hanging on and dissecting every word like "flood" and "immersion" when that is most likely fluff text done by the translation from Japanese to English to make it sound exciting. -.-
