Lifeless world ?

It's alpha for one and the other there has been treads that dev's have respond to exactly what you talking about and will try bring life to the game. Know that can mean allot of thing to different people though because each of us have are own view and what that should be like.

I suppose everybody watched the FFXIV ARR alpha trailer.

And the world seems "frozen". No NPC moving around, no market, no house, bar or whatever. Perhaps they didn't implement this feature that provide a total immersion... or maybe 2.0 will be another static/frozen world where day and night NPC are standing still ? Hope they will bring some life in there, so we can also enjoy exploring.

I can tell you one thing for sure. They did not show everything in that video. Notice how they avoided any interiors and it's partly for a reason I believe. And not because they look awful. They actually look better. At least from what I managed to find out there. But NDA and all doesn't allow me to say more than that on this forum.

I'll just leave it at. "It's alpha and they didn't show everything in that video. So be patient, you'll end up pleasantly surprised."

Would be nice to see a NPC or 2 running/walking through certain areas in town, but oh well. I've grown use to the way 1.X was in terms of this.

And despite all that it felt more lively than 1.0 ever did. Anyway it's alpha where only two races are playable, a lot of things are missing.

NPC's aside, one thing that really irked me in 1.0 is you hear all these birds singing in the Black Shroud, yet they're nowhere to be seen. It would be cool if they had some flying between the trees now and again =)

Those are speakers installed by thieves to attract you and jump you!

Nah the Black Shroud was actually created by Disney, they're the ones who hide the speakers in the bushes and pipe random sounds and music out at you.

It's alpha they not going to be NPC in there yet lol they not even half way done lol.
