I'm frustrated by player misconduct...

Well this is why the FFXIV community fails, because we shouldn't have to group with random people. Its not worth it to put up with immature people for the crappy gear/drops they do have in this game. If they want to every add serious endgame into XIV the community needs work. The community XIV is overly selfish about gear or gil that means nothing in this game at all, since there so easy to get. I could understand if people are like this in XI (or were like this pre 80 cap), but for this game, psh.

I am of the opinion that any item from the chest at the end of a faction leve rightfully belongs to the contributor of the leve. Any courteous player, in the first instance, would offer the item from the end of the faction leve to the leve contributor.

This is the only scenario in which this problem occurs as they obviously re-thought the bad distrubution method when it came to special missions, with the item now only going to the leve contributors. It would be nice to see the special mission chest distribution style applied to normal faction leves to stop this kind of player douchebaggery being a possibility.

For normal chests in normal leves the random distribution is fine. Most people I've partied with who get items from normal chests tend to offer the item to anyone in the party who could benefit from having it. Common courtesy makes the world a better place.

and actually random group in ffxi were not to bad. Only misconduct was someone bugged a guy for 30min over an item. You guys are missing that bit. What the guy did to the OP was well deserved. No one should bug anyone for 30 min over an item. If loot falls in your inventory, its yours. Nothing rude about it. What the OP experience was not player misconducted, just a lesson on why you should bug ppl for 30 min or more over items. If he really wanted to trade it he woulda done so before 30 min.
