I'm frustrated by player misconduct...

the Random Loot boxes that spawn during any levequest, faction or not, are free roll. They automatically roll and assign to a party member. They are not the same as the choice premium chests that sometimes spawn after you kill the mobs in the faction quests (I understand what we're talking about.)

The OP is talking about a chest that spawned AFTER the boss was killed. Those are apparently free lot too with the exception of runestone factions.

At the end of the day the discretion lies with the person who beat the random number generator on who gets what item, you arent entitled to loot that somebody else got just because they can't use it.

Edit: I mean not to say it wasnt wack of him to lead you on about getting the item but hey.

i get what your saying but the guy prob said yes to shut the guy up. 30 min talking about 1 item.... they OP was prob annoying him for 30 mins. When someone admitedly goes I talk about my wanting of an item for 30 min when the guy got it. Sorry but the guy had every right to use any tactic to not have to deal with the OP. If someone did the same to me. Id want to b*tch slap them. I bet the guy repeatedly said no and got to the point where he said yes to distract the guy and log.

Guys there are two sides to the story. Save your judgement on the guy the OP is taking about. The OP didn't tell us what he said in this 30 min convo. The guy had pretty much every right to do what he did. To the OP i suggest you think back to the convo and paraphrase what was said.

Getting told no isn't rude. What is rude is bugging someone for 30 min about an item he got, and you would very much want it. I can see him being rude is saying yess right off the bat then logging, but it took him 30 min to say yes. I think there is more to this then OP was saying, so again please hold judgement calls on the guy till we know more.

I agree. Very good. However, I suppose any talk of values or knowing how to ask politely or be generous has no place then? The very concept of "Random Party = no rules, whoever gets it, gets it, end of story" seems to be a function of the issue of self-centered gameplay.

If I'm playing and I get a drop then Brwhahsdahhahahah it's mine and I get to keep it, screw everyone else! I personally disagree with such a attitude but, I'd rather not this digress into a debate about ethical treatment of other players.

I'll just say, things shouldn't be as they are.

I was frustrated over a topic and was looking for advice not several posters to make rude insults. There's a better way to state your point if you're in disagreement on something...

Get a linkshell, don't play with random people. Straight up. This isn't XI unfortunately where you expect something more out of a group of people (actually this is dead, no mmo has this XI doesn't even have this anymore)

If I got a 350k shield off a chest I wouldn't pass it to someone I just met regardless of if I could use it or not. Thats money in my pocket that fell to me. If 350k got dumped in your lap you sure as heck wouldn't give it to a stranger.

Exactly. I clicked on this thinking it would be something legit; not a little kid crying because they didn't get their way after badgering someone like they do at the grocery store with mommy for a box of cereal. It was a fair drop, and nobody would ever give away a lump of gil to a stranger...especially if that stranger was being a punk about it.
