I'm frustrated by player misconduct...

In a traditional MMO with rigid class systems this may be considered misconduct but here where everyone can eventually use all classes it really isn't. Sure he may not have touched Gladiator yet but he may have plans to down the line.

I mean I know this kind of isn't here nor there but Scarred Kite Shields really aren't that rare. If I recall correctly you can get them as an outright reward for certain faction leves.

Also yes, this trend of "Sigs without borders" is very entertaining

The OP mentioned the guy in question didn't have a single point in GLA, otherwise yes this is true. If the guy does have a high enough GLA, then he won it fair and square.

Ahhh I missunderstood him, I was thinking he just hadn't seen him play gladiator my bad. I might still keep it myself IF it was something neither of us needed, but would probably either offer, or least sell it if the other guy needed it more then me at the moment.

Am I missing something? I don't mean to be rude, but when I read the subject line, I was expecting a post about a player that harassed you. Is there some unwritten rule that chest items belong to leve starter now? I don't mean to be rude, but it sounds like the TS is complaining about a player not being generous enough and then not going through with a deal at the last moment. Yes, logging out without saying anything is discourteous but I still wouldn't call it misconduct.

As a previous poster mentioned, he was well in his rights even if he may have been rude. After all, you wouldn't go beg a lottery winner for his prize and expect him to part with it now would you?

I want to clarify if possible, cause I don't do combat leves very often. It seems to me that it doesn't matter who opens the chest the item inside randomly drops into someone's loot list who is in the party. Is that correct? If that is so and it went into his loot list, I would say it is his fair and square regardless of if he has the job that can use it or not. Just my opinion of course.

I have to agree that the loot was his. He didn't ninja take it or anything. It's just, well his. Just because you wanted it doesn't mean its yours. I guess this is the price you get for doing Faction leves with strangers instead of LS, or friends.

From what I understand of how Chests Work. They automatically do the "Lot" system and randomly decide who gets the item. Instead of having it be a "Lot or Pass" system up front. Once its in the persons Loot Bag though they can pass it if they do not want it.

So technically if this had been a Lot/Pass issue he would have won the lot and validly wont the item. The only problem with this is when you have an issue of groups who want to only say "Only Gladiators can lot Shields" when they are operating, Because a non-gladiator can win without input from the players. Its still up to that non-gladiator to pass the item off to someone else though.

I don't see how this guy was rude. If there was a lot rule in place and he broke it, then yes he is rude. I find it more rude to beg to have items ppl won. He prpb said sure to, well shut you up because you were annoying him. Everyone has equal rights to items. Fir all you know he coulda just disconnected or had to log for an emergency.

The crap ppl are saying about random groypings are bad, make them bad. I've done stuff with random ppl in mmo and never really deal with this.
Anyway that is some food for thought.

I wouldn't really call this misconduct. Seems to me it came down to someone being nice and giving you what you wanted. If he won the shield then there is nothing stating a player has to be nice just because he can't use an item. Also, he could have had a friend or Ls mate that was a GLA and decided to give it to them.

I can understand your frustration because of this though. The guy was a jerk in the end and should have just said no instead of leading you to believe in a false trade agreement..
