Big roots could be used to block your path too like they are used in some games and kind of in IX where they block you from going back to some of the places you previously went to before disc 4. Anything that makes the enviroment seem more alive/dangerous is a good thing.

Third, if you intend to involve me into a squabble spanning multiple pages, I will have to disappoint you.
It's about as simple as typing out a full sentence, yes.
    It's not so hard, right?

And, don't worry, I don't plan on turning this into a "squabble".
It's enough of a "squabble" as it is, with all the talk of tree roots in a game that's still in Alpha...

Never cared, nor would it bother me if they don't add that level of detail. It's just a game for me, not a real world simulation. That said, I wouldn't be upset if they did choose to add it, it's just not that big of an issue for me.

I sometimes look at the ground while walking, to make sure I dont step on any innocent insects, or in some poop.

We do have something we didn't have before, which is jump. And i'm by no means aiming for real world simulation. But the atmosphere is important and i believe adding roots will help that. There are different sizes and shapes, it creates alot more randomness to the enviroment than we realize.

I can also bring this further, and that is why i mentioned jump at the start.
It may be someone mentioned this before in previous posts, but things like jumping puzzles can add alot more fun and the use of the areas can be used to the maximum. Imagine a tree village with houses in the treetops. The possibilities are many.

I agree wholeheartedly. One of the biggest factors in the beauty of areas like The Sanctuary of Zi-tah were the root structures arching throughout the area.
