    Old 1.0 music and dungeon/zones music

    It's rare for me create a thread. But I had this question that only popped up when my friend suddenly said. "Do you happen to know if the music in the Black shroud will be taken over? Also what about those open dungeons where no music played. I sure hope that doesn't come back in ARR."

    We know for a fact that some/most if not all zones will receive a new tune. And I remember Soken saying that each zone will have like one large track but that changes as you progress through a zone. (What we've seen during the alpha gridania tour)

    So here are my questions.
    - Will all previous musics be abolished? Me and my friend really like the Coerthas music and the new Black shroud track that got implemented later on and replaced the old ambient one (in most areas of the black shroud)

    - Will we see the return once again of dungeons without music?(Which I doubt considering they'll all become instanced)
    But more importantly will there be just zones/areas without music. Like in FFXI(think La Theine plateau and other areas) I certainly hope it won't because this has bugged me as well with FFXIV 1.0.

    I am sure they will keep some of the tracks.
    For example the primal battle music or chocobo and so on. But then I think they are working on many new tracks for different zones.

    I don't dislike the current "instanced" dungeon music. But I was referring to those open dungeons around Eorzea like Tam-tara deepcroft and the likes. Probably should have called them caves instead. And also not including the battle music. I'm really talking about the "no music" playing in the background.

    It's honestly one of those things I never understood why they avoided to place any form of music.

    I hope 1.0 dungeon music goes away, or at least is only used for ONE of the dungeons, and not all of them.

    I suspect that they're going to be replacing the music they released on itunes with new stuff. But I could be wrong :x

    As for those "caves" aka dungeons, I think they said they were doing away with those and any type of dungeon would be instanced from now on. So they may inherit the music that plays in TotoRak...or new music altogether.

    It's too soon to tell. Imo I wish they wouldn't mess with the music, but it seems they're going that route. :/

    I wouldn't worry. If we look at the music that was not part of the game originally such as the grand company themes I would say there was an increase in quality. I expect there to be plenty of excellent new music in ARR with the best of the original music remaining. As much as I love Nobuo FF XIV is not his best work.

    I just hope there are very few or no areas devoid of music. Was kind of annoying that some of the open world areas and most of the indoor dungeon areas of FFXI had no music.

    Exactly. I originally wasn't even expecting to see those non-music areas in FFXIV until I went inside Tam-Tara deepcroft for the first time. And was left dissapointed because they didn't add any form of music.

    I hope the chocobo/goobou and battle bgm dosnt replace my area bgm. I can never really enjoy the tune when other things interrupts the theme with another and then restarts it from the beginning once the battle is finished/dismounted.
