    I'm loving all of the new music but I also like a lot of the 1.0 music so I hope it makes it back in some form or another. For example, it would be awesome if Gridania's original theme played during key parts in the main storyline cutscenes while you're in Gridania (as with all the city-states/zones.) Much of Uematsu's original soundtrack simply needed to be used elsewhere for it to feel like it fit after all, while other's were perfect IMO from day one and I would really hate for it to be gone (twilight over thanalan and over windy meadows <3). So while I'm all for the new music, please keep our favorite ones! (and PLEASE keep the boss theme, but don't overuse it like in 1.0)

    I wanted to pass along what Soken's responses were to some of the questions that were brought up in this thread.

    We basically set it up so that music is not playing all the time and in every location in ARR, so there will be dungeons and areas without music.

    There are many occasions where we will play a bit of ominous music at the entrance, and then it will change to just ambient sounds. During battle the music will play, but this is a feature of Alpha and will most likely change in the future. There are of course times that content-type dungeons will have music playing the whole time.

    Can you toggle the chocobo/goobbue music on and off?
    In Alpha, after the riding music loops about 1 and a half times, it will no longer continue to play. We are planning to have a toggle option at launch as well!

    Also, for mounts, though it will be after the launch, we are thinking of a variety of gimmicks, so look forward to it!

    Like the bit about the chocobo music, but I wonder why they don't want music in every area. Wonder if it's just a design cost issue or whatnot. I guess I don't mind if some areas don't have music, but I don't want it to be as bad as FFXI/FFXIV 1.0 was. In FFXI all the crag areas and their next immediate areas, along with "dungeons" (Korroloka, SSG, etc.) didn't have music. Hell, even the beastmen strongholds didn't have music; I was glad for that change in 1.0. (and it was great music too, especially Natalan)

    I would love a Jukebox mode, including all purchased/unlocked music, perhaps even the old OST music, be added to our Houses....

    Is what he explained about the loop the same way it works in XI? Never played that thing.

    After a few loops on a choco in XI the music fades out to the zone BGM, but it depends on how they're doing the bgm in general since he said in may change from Alpha apparently.

    Probably the way the music fades in and out is what may change, since in 1.0 they changed it from a fade to an immediate thing.
