God MNK is awesome. I wish I'd levelled that job up.Yes, DRG are better at garuda but what you are leaving out is a dedicated MNK is always better than regular DRG. The only MNk that get left out is the terrible one. I was MNK main and i made it work for Garuda, i didn't whine that my MNK doesnt get invited, instead i refined the strat, find a unique position for MNK in Garuda party to convince people to let me try it, and i did.

This whole thing is community issue and PUG mentality to go with the least resistance path.
Quoted for truth, emphasis and posterity.Every single content at 1.0 was doable with any job setup, you see the issue here is most players are LAZY, refuckinemphasize on lazy, if you want to do strat your way, then go make your own strat, go setup the party and proof to people it works and people will starts using it.
BUT no, people would rather on freakin whine on forum instead of refining their own strat, they would rather people carry their ass. So, they keep using the strategy that apparently they hates. Well, guess what? freaking suck it up if you are lazy.
This is MMO, there is never true balance, some job will shines at certain instances, some at others. Get this in your head deeply, this is the price you have to pay for uniqueness. What devs can do is make them all viable in the fights and that is what they already did.
Ifrit? magic and melee burnable
Moogle? magic and melee burnable
Garuda? you need both magic and melee to win
25m Speedrun instaces? you can win with any combination of battle classes
This issue isn't going away in a game where holy trinities exist, so suck it up.

Personnally i like to be able to change my job when i want.
But in another hand i can understand what you said concerning "dedication" etc.
For me it's the fault of the easy way to lv up and most of people used PL.... woaaaa so amazing. Keep the armoury system, erase PL and add a little more exp for lving and you will see, armoury system is fine.
I can't count the number of time i asked to someone who had a lv50 job but didn't want to play it and have this kind of answer : "I just PLed it's easy i just wanted all my jobs at 50"
It's not the armoury system the problem really![]()

1 weapon = 1 job , ya i don't really like this aspect too.

Whilst I'm 100% for being able to do everything one character, (Having one character through everything makes you so much more attached to them) I think there should be limitations on switching jobs and classes. In XI you had to go back to your mog house to change, so generally you would stick to one job for an event.
I would like a similar system here tbh. Maybe only be able to change at crystals?

Or SE can limit class change for instanced events like in Hamlet.Whilst I'm 100% for being able to do everything one character, (Having one character through everything makes you so much more attached to them) I think there should be limitations on switching jobs and classes. In XI you had to go back to your mog house to change, so generally you would stick to one job for an event.

During hamlet you can't switch the weapon, different or same type.

Now I see why people kicked you and your friend... everything makes sense again... next thread

I kinda wish all jobs were welcome to every event too.
I think it's more of an XIV problem tbh. The only people who really played a ton were the hardcore people who have every job at 50.
This meant that people had expectations that most people had multiple jobs.
I'm in a similar boat as you though. DRG, WHM and WAR just don't interest me in the slightest. I enjoy levelling up one thing and obsessing over it, more than being a jack of all trades. Luckily because BRD is one of my favourite jobs I get into a lot of groups. (I had the same thing happen in XI)

I like how the job restrictions / difficulty in leveling forced innovations in raid concepts in XI. XIV is still pretty solid on stacking jobs. Maybe that will change, but idk, seems the road the game is going down.
Though a bit of an edit, Chard has a point, they really just need to balance better and the issue will go away.

Theres a simple fix to this for content... they make it so you cant switch inside an Instance.. there you go.. no need overhauling their entire system.
