quite half assed considering xi had different instruments and they each affected song performanceHi Twiddle,
I apologize for the delay and that our lovely Rukkirii is out today so she's unable to deliver this news personally. However, as a fellow ol' bard, I felt obligated to deliver the following information to you guys!
There are currently no plans to implement instruments as items, but as mentioned earlier, we will be making it so a harp is taken out when a song action is selected and a musical piece is performed. Please note that this harp will not be a main arm item that you equip; it is just a part of the animation.
Agreed, The class has fallen far from what a Bard really should have been. Just from the limited amount of content we saw from the alpha footage. It may change or be different @ Lv. 50.

Well, I hope Bard also get offensive song abilities too.
oh wahhh wahhh you don't hear us dragoons crying from not having Wyverns do you >_> -crying on the inside Q___Q-
"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
try doing it here instead. Lancer-Dragoon forum
I kinda like the bard the way he is. He can actually defend himself and go on the offensive. The music and buffs are more of a secondary solo thing or a party bonus. I'm glad SE isn't changing it.
The fact that bard can sing should not limit it to only singing. I think they dont add instruments to avoid constant gear swapping in the middle of a fight. Brd is a balanced support heal support dmg and buffer as far as I played it. And it was my main class
I would like to see more musical abilities as well, but I do like that I have archer abilities as well. I can still do some damage while playing the class I enjoy. I don't feel like JUST a support class. At the same time, in all my bard training, I only bothered to learn 5 songs. If I got shot in the knee, I'd never be hired for anything! xD
For my part, I'm happy to hear that BRD won't require constant gear swapping between weapon and instrument. It might be interesting to let them equip an instrument to their "offhand" slot, which is shown instead of their weapon when performing.
But then, for my part, I'm also happy to simply know that there will no longer be ammo for ARC/BRD. I will be strongly considering that class whenever I can get my hands on it.
no ammo?? where did you read this?? i like having ammo, its good for the economy what will CRP do now??
