Updating to 2.0 ?

Hrm...possible, but highly improbable. Even though the look of 2.0 might be similar, the coding is what really matters. If they're using a different engine the coding might be totally different to get the same look, hence the new software of 2.0.

Even just the data transfer of characters poses a headache which I truly commend the dev team for.

Just make sure you guys back up the FFXIV folder under My Documents\My Games.

It has your screenshots, macros, old saved character creation data as well as the creation/customization options to your existing ones. ~~I'm assuming that we'll be able to load those up in ARR seeing as they were created/modified on the final night.~~

You can download the new client on the lodestone page they have a link there once you log onto lodestone. Anyone who have a 1.0 account would get the new client for free and they even said we get 1month free to try out 2.0.

When FFXIV is close to release yoshi-p said they be a link on the loadstone to current members who log in you see the link. Not right now i should of maybe said that but i was guessing people would have knew that what i meant. But ya don't worry you get the link when FFXIV is close to release
